I’ve studied and worked with art my whole life. I’m not sure exactly what age I started, but I’ve been practicing oil painting since I was 10 and teaching art since 2000.

My art really does reflect my life. I love to grill, bake, cook, and brew things… I’m grateful and tickled to see my wife and kids find joy from reading our family dinner menu on the fridge :)

What you will find in these paintings is my interpretation of Ecclesiastes 2:24-25, “A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?”

These paintings and drawings tell stories… they are a celebration of, struggle with, and longing for food and drink and good times.

I start the tale with something familiar, such as a grill or a cake. Then it’s up to colors and composition to fill in the rest of the story. Vibrancy, energy, and joy are in my work, but you’ll also find sarcasm, cynicism, and wariness.
